Start a First Horizon login at firsthorizon.com, select Log in, and verify that the banking page loads in a browser supported by the bank. This independent guide is not affiliated with First Horizon Bank and cannot view, recover, or modify customer accounts.
Check the browser first. Skip immediate account recovery when the sign-in form is incomplete, an obsolete browser is being used, or the page has not established the expected secure session.
What First Horizon is
First Horizon Bank is a U.S. financial institution offering personal, small-business, corporate, mortgage, trust, and other financial services. Its main website identifies banking products and services as provided by First Horizon Bank, Member FDIC and Equal Housing Lender.
The search “First Horizon” often has a narrower purpose: open Digital Banking, recover an established profile, enroll for online access, or determine why the login page behaves differently in another browser.
Those problems need different responses.
Confirm the banking service and browser
The First Horizon personal login page displays a banking-service selector followed by User ID, Password, Login, Enroll for access, and Forgot ID or password.
First Horizon’s browser notice says Internet Explorer is no longer supported and identifies these browsers for its website and Digital Banking:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Mozilla Firefox
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| The normal User ID and Password fields | Continue with the selected banking service |
| We still need your User ID | Complete the required User ID field |
| We still need your Password | Complete the required password field |
| A broken or incomplete page | Test a supported current browser |
| Forgot User ID/Password | Recover an existing profile |
| Enroll for access | Establish Digital Banking access |
| A business or corporate service name | Confirm the assigned account category |
Do this first: confirm both the selected service and browser. Skip resetting an otherwise valid profile because the login page was opened through outdated software.
The familiar appearance of a field is not enough. Personal, Small Business, Corporate, mortgage, trust, and investment services can use different access routes under the First Horizon name.
Required-field messages have a narrow meaning
First Horizon’s current login environment displays Enter User ID, Enter Password, Show, and Forgot User ID/Password. When a required field remains empty, it can show We still need your User ID or We still need your Password.
Those messages do not say that the account is suspended or that the completed credential was rejected.
A saved browser entry may populate only one field. The customer submits the page, sees a warning, and assumes Digital Banking access has failed even though the complete form was never sent.
Check both fields first. Skip enrollment, app reinstallation, and broad browser changes when the page merely identifies a missing entry.
Small message. Specific cause.
A fully completed form that remains unsuccessful is the point at which the bank’s recovery route becomes relevant.
Verify that the session is secure
First Horizon’s security guidance tells online-banking customers to verify that the browser session uses https rather than http. It also advises against leaving an online-banking session unattended or using automatic login features that store banking credentials.
The bank’s current login environment is designed for secure account access.
Use a controlled check:
- Type
firsthorizon.commanually. - Select Log in from the bank’s own website.
- Confirm that the resulting connection uses
https. - Verify that the expected First Horizon service is selected.
- Continue only after the standard fields display normally.
Priority one: reach the bank through an established domain. Skip links in unexpected messages, even when the page design resembles First Horizon.
First Horizon says it will not contact customers and ask them to verify their identity by sending codes or providing passwords through phone, email, or text. A suspicious communication claiming to be from the bank should be handled through an established First Horizon contact route.
Test a browser problem without changing everything
A browser-specific problem should be tested narrowly.
Close the failed tab and open First Horizon again from the bank’s main website. If the page remains incomplete, compare it in one other current browser identified by First Horizon as supported.
Do not reset access, clear every browser setting, reinstall the mobile app, and begin another enrollment during the same test. That removes useful evidence about what actually failed.
A practical sequence is:
- Main site opens and Digital Banking does not: compare a supported browser.
- One supported browser works: focus on the original browser.
- No supported browser reaches the form: check broader service availability or contact the bank.
- The form opens but the completed profile fails: use recovery.
- Website access works but the app fails: investigate the mobile channel separately.
First Horizon’s security guidance does mention clearing the browser cache before an online-banking session. The bank notes that the exact method depends on the browser and version.
Use that step deliberately. Skip repeated cache removal when the actual problem is the wrong banking service or an established profile that needs recovery.
Enrollment and recovery solve different problems
First Horizon’s recovery page is headed Forgot User ID Or Password. It tells customers without a User ID that they need to enroll in online banking and asks established customers to choose the appropriate account type. The page lists 800-511-9160 for that recovery service.
First Horizon’s enrollment page says setup is generally completed in about five minutes and lists a debit or ATM card, an account number, and an email address among the items customers should have available. It publishes 800-382-5465 for enrollment assistance.
Use the distinction:
- Digital Banking was never created: choose Enroll for access.
- The profile worked previously: choose Forgot ID or password.
- The page will not render correctly: check the browser before either action.
- The form says a field is missing: complete that field.
- The website works but Mobile Banking does not: compare the mobile channel.
Enrollment adds digital access to an eligible existing relationship. It is not a repair tool for a browser that cannot display the page.
Determine whether the profile existed first. Skip duplicate enrollment when an established account merely needs recovery.
Compare Digital Banking with the mobile app
First Horizon says current Digital Banking customers are automatically enrolled for Mobile Banking and should use their existing credentials. Customers can access Mobile Banking through the downloadable application or a mobile web browser.
The current First Horizon Mobile Banking app is offered to personal and Small Business customers. Its published functions include balance viewing, check deposits, bill payment, transfers, budgeting, spending tracking, and alerts.
Use the two channels as a diagnostic pair:
- Website and app both reject the profile: use recovery.
- Website works but the app fails: check the app or mobile session.
- App works but the website fails: test a supported browser.
- Personal access works but Small Business access does not: verify the business profile.
- Login succeeds but one feature is absent: check product access rather than changing the password.
Do not reinstall first. Confirm whether the profile works through another First Horizon channel, then isolate the device or application issue.
Mobile messaging and data rates may apply, and available features can differ by account and service.
Small Business access has another layer
First Horizon’s Small Business Digital Banking Help page includes separate resources for forgotten access, authorized users, user entitlements, account alerts, payments, payees, payroll payments, transfers, and mobile check deposits.
That produces two different problems:
- The user cannot enter Small Business Digital Banking.
- The user enters successfully but cannot see or use a business feature.
Use recovery for the first case. For the second, review the business user’s assigned access or use the relevant First Horizon business-help workflow.
A working business dashboard means the main login succeeded. Replacing the password will not necessarily add an account, payee, payroll function, or permission controlled by user entitlements.
Check the dashboard first. Skip company-wide credential changes when only one business function or user is affected.
Business access and available controls can vary by organization.
Why a customer form requests another login
Some First Horizon customer-service requests open a page titled Before you continue.
The screen says the selected form is for customers and requests a Digital Banking Username and Password. Empty fields display Please enter a value for Username and Please enter a value for Password. Customers without Digital Banking credentials are directed to a branch or 800-382-5465.
This can feel like the bank created another account midway through the support process.
It is an authentication checkpoint for the protected request. Use the established Digital Banking profile there, not credentials from a mortgage, corporate, trust, or unrelated financial service.
A required-field message on this page also has a limited meaning. It identifies an incomplete entry rather than declaring an account invalid.
Do this first: identify the form. Skip forcing the protected workflow when Digital Banking itself is unavailable.
Use the right support channel
First Horizon’s support hub offers FAQs, online customer-service requests, contact routes, and learning materials.
Use the channel that matches the failed stage:
- Login page does not render: supported-browser check
- Existing profile is rejected: Digital Banking recovery
- No User ID was created: enrollment
- Protected form cannot be reached: branch or the number shown on that page
- Small Business user lacks a function: business-help or entitlement route
- Suspicious message or unexpected verification request: established fraud-support channel
First Horizon publishes 800-382-5465 for general customer assistance and 800-511-9160 on its Digital Banking recovery page.
When describing a browser problem, name the browser, selected banking service, last visible screen, and whether another supported browser or the mobile app works.
“Chrome opens Digital Banking, but the original browser does not display both required fields” is actionable. “First Horizon is broken” is not.
Treat suspicious prompts separately
First Horizon’s fraud guidance says the bank will not ask customers to verify their identity by sending codes or supplying passwords through phone, email, or text. Customers who receive a suspicious communication claiming to be from First Horizon are told to contact Client Services through the bank’s published route.
An expected bank verification screen appears during an action the customer initiated. An unexpected request arriving through another communication should not be treated as ordinary browser troubleshooting.
Do not approve it.
Return to First Horizon through its main website and use the bank’s established contact information. Security takes priority; browser testing can wait.
FDIC status follows the financial product
First Horizon identifies its banking products and services as provided by First Horizon Bank, Member FDIC. Its website also provides access to trust, wealth, mortgage, investment, and related services.
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation coverage applies to eligible deposits according to applicable limits and ownership categories. A First Horizon-branded login does not establish identical protections for every linked product.
Read the service name and its disclosures.

Frequently asked questions
Which browsers does First Horizon identify as supported?
Chrome, Edge, and Firefox.
Does First Horizon support Internet Explorer?
No. First Horizon says Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer and directs customers to a supported browser for its website and Digital Banking.
What does “We still need your Password” mean?
The required field is incomplete.
Should I enroll again when the login page is broken?
No. Enrollment is for an eligible customer who does not have Digital Banking access. Test the page in a supported current browser before deciding that a new profile is needed.
Can I use the same profile in Mobile Banking?
Yes. First Horizon says existing Digital Banking customers are automatically enrolled for Mobile Banking and should use their current credentials.
Why can a Small Business user sign in but lack a feature?
First Horizon provides separate Small Business workflows for authorized users, user entitlements, payments, alerts, and other functions. Successful authentication does not necessarily give every user access to every business tool.
Why does a support form ask me to sign in again?
Some requests use the Before you continue authentication screen. It requires the existing Digital Banking profile and provides branch or telephone instructions for customers without online access.
What should I do with an unexpected verification request?
Do not respond through the unexpected message. First Horizon says it will not ask customers to send codes or provide passwords through phone, email, or text. Contact the bank through an established route.
