Start a First Horizon login at firsthorizon.com, select Log in, and choose the personal or Small Business service linked to your account. This independent guide is not affiliated with First Horizon Bank and cannot access, recover, or modify customer accounts.

A customer who enters Digital Banking but cannot locate an account or routing number usually has a post-login navigation question, not a failed password. Check whether the account dashboard opens first. Skip recovery when authentication has already succeeded.

What First Horizon is

First Horizon Bank is a U.S. financial institution providing personal, Small Business, commercial, mortgage, trust, and wealth-related services. Its website identifies banking products and services as provided by First Horizon Bank, Member FDIC and Equal Housing Lender.

The search term “First Horizon login” may lead to several different tasks:

  • Enter Digital Banking
  • Find an account number
  • Confirm a routing number
  • Prepare direct-deposit instructions
  • Enroll for online access
  • Recover an existing User ID or password

These tasks overlap, but they should not be treated as one problem.

Determine whether the login actually failed

First Horizon’s personal login page displays a banking-service selector followed by User ID, Password, Login, Enroll for access, and Forgot ID or password.

Use the last successful step to choose what comes next:

What happensMore relevant action
An established profile is rejected before entryUse Digital Banking recovery
No Digital Banking User ID existsChoose enrollment
The dashboard opens, but the account number is hiddenOpen the account details
A payroll form requests bank informationVerify the account and routing numbers
A statement contains the needed account detailsUse the statement information carefully
Personal access works, but a business account is absentOpen the correct Small Business service

Do this first: confirm whether the dashboard opens. Skip changing credentials when the problem begins after successful authentication.

A working dashboard means the main sign-in stage completed. It does not mean the account number will be displayed openly on the first screen.

Find the account number after signing in

First Horizon provides a specific Digital Banking route for locating a full account number.

The bank’s Routing and Account Number FAQ tells customers to log in, select the Accounts/Statements tab, choose the account name from the Assets section, and select the visibility symbol, shown as an eye with a slash through it, to reveal the account number.

First Horizon’s Digital Banking FAQ describes another current account-detail route. It says customers can select the checking, savings, CD, IRA, or loan account they want to view, then choose Manage my Account to see the full account number.

The exact presentation can vary with the account and Digital Banking layout, but the principle is the same: open the individual account and deliberately reveal its details.

Priority one: verify the account name before copying the number. Skip assuming that the first account displayed is the one intended for payroll or another electronic deposit.

Customers with several checking or savings accounts should confirm:

  • Account ownership
  • Account type
  • Last visible digits
  • Whether the account is open and active
  • Whether it is the account intended to receive the deposit

A full account number is sensitive financial information. Copy it only into a legitimate employer, government, pension, or other authorized direct-deposit process.

Find the First Horizon routing number

First Horizon says routing numbers can be needed for direct deposits, ACH transactions, bill payments, check orders, and wire transfers. The bank publishes 084000026 as its main routing number while noting that a customer’s specific routing number may vary depending on where the account was opened. The specific number can also be found on a check.

Do not automatically use a number found through a general search result without confirming the transaction type and First Horizon’s current instructions.

A payroll direct deposit and an incoming wire are not necessarily documented through the same instructions. First Horizon’s incoming-wire page separately publishes routing information and provides dedicated support for wire instructions.

Use this distinction:

  • Payroll, pension, government benefit, or ordinary ACH deposit: follow the direct-deposit or ACH instructions.
  • Incoming domestic or international wire: use the bank’s wire instructions.
  • Check reorder: verify the number printed on the check.
  • Uncertainty about the correct number: contact First Horizon at its published customer-service route.

Do this first: identify the payment rail. Skip treating “routing number” as though every transfer uses an identical set of instructions.

How First Horizon describes direct deposit

First Horizon describes direct deposit as a free service that can electronically place payroll, government, pension, or dividend payments into an eligible checking, savings, or money market account.

The setup process normally involves the organization sending the payment. That may be an employer, payroll provider, government agency, retirement administrator, or another authorized payer.

The organization may ask for:

  • Bank name
  • Routing number
  • Account number
  • Checking or savings designation
  • Customer name
  • A voided check or bank document
  • An authorization or consent

First Horizon’s Digital Banking login does not itself prove that an employer has completed its payroll change. It provides access to the bank information that may be needed for the employer’s separate process.

Priority two: verify the change with the payer. Skip assuming that finding the numbers inside First Horizon automatically updates payroll.

The payer controls when its instruction becomes active. Processing timing can depend on its payroll or benefit schedule.

Social Security deposits use a separate route

First Horizon’s direct-deposit demonstration notes that customers setting up direct deposit for Social Security checks should use the federal Go Direct service or its published telephone channel.

That is different from submitting an ordinary employer payroll form.

A customer should not assume that changing information inside First Horizon Digital Banking automatically changes the destination of a federal benefit payment. The change must be completed through the responsible agency or its designated process.

Use the bank account details from a verified First Horizon source, then follow the government’s official update procedure.

Keep the two systems separate:

  • First Horizon holds the receiving account.
  • The government agency controls where it sends the benefit.
  • Digital Banking displays account information.
  • The agency’s process changes the payment instruction.

Do not send account information in response to an unsolicited call, message, or email claiming to update government benefits.

Statements offer another account-number source

First Horizon says an account number can also be found in the customer-information area at the upper-right portion of a paper statement or e-statement.

Customers enrolled in Statements Online can enter Digital Banking, select Accounts/Statements, and choose the accounts they want to manage through electronic statements.

This creates a second legitimate route when the account-detail control is difficult to locate.

Use a current statement belonging to the correct account. Do not rely on an old statement without confirming that the account remains open and is still the intended destination.

Take care when handling downloaded statements. They may contain account details, balances, transactions, addresses, and other sensitive information.

Store or transmit them only when necessary.

Enrollment is different from finding account details

Customers who have never created Digital Banking access should use Enroll for access rather than the recovery route. Customers with an established profile should use Forgot ID or password when they can no longer enter it. First Horizon displays both controls on its personal login page.

Use this decision map:

  • Never had Digital Banking: enroll.
  • Previously signed in but forgot the credentials: recover.
  • Dashboard opens but account number is hidden: open account details.
  • Correct account number is visible but payroll has not changed: contact the employer or payer.
  • Unsure which routing number applies: verify the transaction type with First Horizon.
  • Direct deposit was expected but did not arrive: check both the payer and the receiving account.

Enrollment creates access to eligible banking services. It does not set up an employer’s direct deposit.

Password recovery restores Digital Banking access. It does not submit payroll instructions.

Solve the right layer.

Compare personal and business direct deposit tasks

A personal customer usually needs receiving-account details so wages, benefits, pensions, dividends, or other payments can be deposited.

A Small Business or commercial client may instead be trying to originate payroll direct deposits for employees. First Horizon describes its business payroll direct-deposit service as processing employee pay into the employees’ chosen bank accounts. Its published business information says direct-deposit files are submitted two business days before the effective payroll date.

These are opposite sides of the transaction:

  • Employee or consumer: provides receiving-account information.
  • Employer or business originator: submits a payroll file.
  • First Horizon personal login: helps the customer access receiving-account details.
  • Business treasury service: helps an authorized organization originate payments.

Do not use consumer instructions to operate a commercial payroll system.

A business customer who cannot submit a payroll file should use the appropriate Small Business, commercial, or treasury-management support route rather than personal Digital Banking recovery.

Avoid confusing ACH deposits with wire transfers

Both transactions may request bank and account details, but they are not interchangeable.

First Horizon’s routing FAQ mentions direct deposit, ACH, bill payments, and wire transfers as situations in which routing information may be requested. It also warns that the specific routing number can depend on where the account was opened.

First Horizon maintains a separate incoming-wire instructions page, including dedicated contacts for incoming wires and international-currency instructions.

Before sharing account details, ask:

  • Is this a payroll or benefit deposit?
  • Is it an ACH credit?
  • Is it a domestic wire?
  • Is it an international wire?
  • Which First Horizon account should receive it?
  • Did the payer provide a legitimate form or portal?

Do not improvise wire instructions from a payroll direct-deposit form. An incorrect routing path can delay or misdirect a transfer.

Use secure support for account-specific questions

First Horizon publishes 800-382-5465 for customer assistance and provides a support hub containing Digital and Mobile Banking help, FAQs, routing-number resources, and customer-service requests.

Some online customer requests lead to a page titled Before you continue. That screen requires an existing Digital Banking username and password and directs customers without Digital Banking credentials to a branch or 800-382-5465.

Use support when:

  • The account number cannot be found after login.
  • The visible account does not match the intended deposit account.
  • The routing number is unclear for the transaction type.
  • A deposit was sent but has not appeared.
  • Personal and business profiles are being confused.
  • A protected customer form cannot be opened.

When contacting support, describe the task without placing full account numbers, passwords, or verification codes in an ordinary message.

“Personal Digital Banking opens, but I cannot locate the full number for my checking account” is enough to begin.

Treat an unexpected direct-deposit change as a security issue

A planned payroll update is different from an unfamiliar change to where money is being deposited.

Stop ordinary troubleshooting when:

  • An employer says banking instructions changed without your request.
  • A payroll profile shows an unfamiliar account.
  • A message asks for a one-time code to “confirm” direct deposit.
  • A caller requests Digital Banking credentials.
  • An expected payment is missing and the payer reports it was sent elsewhere.

Return to First Horizon and the employer through contact methods you already trust. Do not use links or telephone numbers contained only in the unexpected message.

The account number and routing number may be printed on checks or visible in Digital Banking, but that does not make them appropriate to share casually.

Security takes priority.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I find my First Horizon account number?

First Horizon publishes 084000026 as its main routing number but says a specific routing number can vary depending on where the account was opened.

Can I find the account number on a statement?

Yes. First Horizon says it appears in the customer-information area near the upper-right portion of a paper statement or e-statement.

Who should I contact when I cannot find the correct details?
