Choose the Correct First Horizon Digital Banking Profile

First Horizon customers should start at firsthorizon.com, select Log in, and confirm whether the affected profile is personal or Small Business. This independent guide is not affiliated with First Horizon Bank and cannot access or modify customer accounts.

Make that choice first. Personal and Small Business pages display similar User ID and Password fields, but recovery, permissions, reporting tools, and business-user management can depend on the selected profile.

What First Horizon is

First Horizon Bank is a U.S. financial institution offering personal banking, Small Business services, commercial banking, mortgages, trust services, and related financial products. Its personal login page identifies eligible banking products as FDIC-insured and backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government.

The keyword “First Horizon” usually represents a narrower task. The customer may want to enter Digital Banking, establish online access, recover an existing User ID, open the mobile app, or manage a Small Business account.

The profile matters.

Personal and Small Business pages look alike

First Horizon maintains separate personal and Small Business login pages. Both contain a banking-service selector and the controls User ID, Password, Login, Enroll for access, and Forgot ID or password.

That visual similarity creates an avoidable mistake: a customer sees familiar fields and assumes the selected account category does not matter.

First Horizon describes Small Business Digital Banking as supporting account management, payments, user entitlements, and payments to associates online or through the mobile app. Those business functions go beyond viewing an individual checking balance.

Do this first: confirm the profile type. Skip password recovery until the page matches the banking relationship.

Do you need enrollment or recovery?

First Horizon separates first-time Digital Banking setup from access recovery.

The bank’s recovery page is titled Forgot User ID Or Password. It states that customers without a User ID must enroll in online banking, while those with an existing profile use the recovery process. The same page publishes 800-511-9160 as its contact number.

First Horizon’s enrollment page says setup takes about five minutes and lists three items customers should have available:

  • A debit or ATM card
  • An account number
  • An email address

Enrollment adds Digital and Mobile Banking access to an eligible relationship. It is not the same as opening a new deposit account.

Choose Enroll for access if a Digital Banking User ID has never existed. Choose Forgot ID or password if the profile worked previously.

Priority one: determine whether the user ever signed in successfully. Skip a second enrollment when the existing User ID simply needs recovery.

Read the Digital Banking validation message

The direct First Horizon Digital Banking page displays:

  • Enter User ID
  • Enter Password
  • Show
  • Forgot User ID/Password
  • We still need your User ID
  • We still need your Password

The final two messages are required-field notices. They do not, by themselves, prove that a completed User ID or password was rejected.

This distinction is small but useful. A browser password manager may insert one field but leave the other blank. The customer clicks the login control, sees a warning, and assumes the bank locked the profile.

Check both fields first. Skip enrollment or broad browser changes when the page merely says that a required entry is missing.

Short message. Specific meaning.

Recover one profile at a time

Open the recovery route through First Horizon’s main site or the Forgot User ID/Password control on Digital Banking. Confirm whether the affected relationship is personal or Small Business before continuing.

Use a controlled order:

  1. Identify the personal or Small Business profile.
  2. Confirm that Digital Banking worked previously.
  3. Open the bank’s recovery page.
  4. Complete the First Horizon process.
  5. Return to a new Digital Banking session.

Do not combine recovery with a new enrollment, browser-data deletion, and mobile-app reinstallation. Performing every action together makes it difficult to know which profile was recovered and which credential is current.

A password change will not correct the wrong User ID. Likewise, recovering a personal profile may not restore a separate business profile.

One account at a time.

First Horizon also maintains a Small Business Digital Banking Help area with a dedicated Forgot User ID or Password resource, mobile guidance, FAQs, and fraud-prevention information.

Mobile Banking uses existing Digital Banking access

First Horizon says current Digital Banking customers are automatically enrolled for Mobile Banking and should use their existing credentials. Mobile access is available through the downloadable app or a mobile web browser.

The bank’s mobile-app page directs customers to download applications through the store links it provides. It also notes that mobile messaging and data charges may apply.

The current First Horizon Mobile Banking app is available for personal and Small Business customers. Its listed functions include viewing account balances, depositing checks, paying bills, transferring funds, creating budgets, tracking spending, and setting alerts.

Compare the channels:

  • Website and app both fail: inspect the Digital Banking profile or recovery route.
  • Website works but the app fails: inspect the current app and stored mobile session.
  • App works but the website fails: reopen First Horizon from its main domain.
  • Personal works but Small Business fails: verify the business profile.
  • Login works but a business feature is missing: check account permissions or service setup.

Do not reinstall first. Confirm whether the profile works through another bank-provided route, then isolate the failing device or service.

Feature availability can vary by account and business setup.

Small Business access can include user entitlements

Small Business Digital Banking is not merely the personal website with a different heading.

First Horizon describes its business service as allowing customers to manage accounts, manage user entitlements, make payments, and pay associates online or through the mobile app.

That introduces an extra troubleshooting layer. A person may be able to enter the business profile but remain unable to see or perform a particular function because the problem concerns access rights rather than the main login.

Use this distinction:

  • Cannot enter the business profile: use the Small Business login or recovery route.
  • Can enter but cannot see an account: review the business setup.
  • Can see accounts but cannot perform a task: review user entitlements.
  • Another business user works normally: compare the affected user’s assigned access.
  • Every business user is affected: check broader service availability or contact support.

Do the login check first. Skip repeated password changes when the user has already reached the business dashboard.

A successful login and permission to perform a business action are separate questions.

Why a support form asks for another sign-in

Some First Horizon customer-service requests are protected by a screen titled Before you continue.

The page says the form is for customers and asks them to sign in using a Digital Banking Username and Password. Empty submissions can produce Please enter a value for Username and Please enter a value for Password. Customers without Digital Banking credentials are instructed to visit a branch or call 800-382-5465.

This screen can feel like an unrelated second account because it appears after a support request has already been selected.

It usually means the chosen request requires Digital Banking authentication. Use the established Digital Banking profile rather than trying credentials from another First Horizon service.

First Horizon’s broader support hub also offers FAQs, contact options, and customer-service request categories.

Priority two: use the appropriate support route. Skip forcing a protected form when Digital Banking itself is unavailable.

Questions form or faster support?

First Horizon’s public questions-and-comments form says correspondence is generally answered within one to two business days. It directs customers who need faster service to call 800-382-5465.

That makes the form suitable for routine questions, not every access problem.

Use the channel according to the situation:

  • General non-urgent question: public contact form.
  • Digital Banking recovery issue: recovery-page contact.
  • Protected form without online access: call or visit a branch.
  • Small Business access issue: business support and Digital Banking Help.
  • Suspicious activity: contact the bank through an established route promptly.

When reporting a login problem, state the profile type, website or app, last screen that loaded, approximate time, and whether recovery opened.

“Small Business login loads, but the affected user cannot see an assigned account” is actionable. “First Horizon does not work” is not.

Do not include authentication information in an ordinary message.

Suspicious alerts are not routine login failures

First Horizon advises customers who receive potentially suspicious activity, such as an unexpected email alert, push notification, or one-time passcode, to change their User ID and password immediately. The bank gives the same instruction after fraudulent online transaction activity has been reported.

Stop regular troubleshooting when that happens.

Do not approve an unfamiliar request or use a login link contained in the unexpected communication. Return to First Horizon through its established main domain or another trusted banking contact.

A required-field message such as We still need your User ID is a form issue. An unexpected authentication event is a security issue. Treat them differently.

Security takes priority. Skip app experiments while suspicious account activity is being reviewed.

Digital Banking fees and product caveats

First Horizon’s Digital Banking FAQs state that Digital Banking is free to sign up for and use. The bank directs customers to open the red Log In control on its website and select enrollment.

That statement concerns the Digital Banking service itself. Other account fees, transaction charges, mobile-carrier charges, or product conditions may still apply depending on the customer’s account and activity.

Read the account disclosures.

First Horizon also identifies eligible banking products as FDIC-insured. Investment, insurance, annuity, and financial-planning services can carry separate disclosures and should not be treated as insured deposits merely because they appear within a First Horizon-branded environment.

Terms and availability may vary by account and region.
