First Horizon customers should begin at firsthorizon.com, select Log in, and confirm that the chosen service matches the account they need. This independent guide is not affiliated with First Horizon Bank and cannot view or change customer accounts.
Do that first. Skip immediate recovery until you know whether the problem involves Personal Digital Banking, Small Business access, first-time enrollment, a protected service form, or another First Horizon platform.
What First Horizon is
First Horizon Bank is a U.S. financial institution offering personal, small-business, commercial, mortgage, wealth, trust, and related services. Its personal login page identifies banking products as provided by First Horizon Bank, Member FDIC, while its Digital Banking page separately discloses investment and insurance services offered through affiliated entities.
The search “First Horizon” rarely describes the entire task. Most users need to enter an existing digital profile, enroll for access, recover a User ID, open the mobile app, or reach the correct support channel.
One name. Several routes.
Is this enrollment or account recovery?
This distinction should be made before any troubleshooting begins.
First Horizon’s recovery page states that a customer without a User ID needs to enroll in online banking. The same page separates existing users by account type, including Personal and Business/Small Business.
Use Enroll for access when Digital Banking has never been established for the eligible banking relationship. Use Forgot ID or password when the profile worked previously but the customer can no longer enter it. Both controls appear on First Horizon’s personal and Small Business login pages.
| Situation | Correct starting action |
|---|---|
| Never created a Digital Banking User ID | Enroll for access |
| Previously used online banking | Forgot ID or password |
| Personal profile affected | Select the personal recovery route |
| Small-business profile affected | Select the business recovery route |
| Customer form asks for another sign-in | Check whether it requires Digital Banking |
First Horizon says Digital and Mobile Banking enrollment takes about five minutes. Its enrollment page lists a debit or ATM card, an account number, and an email address among the items needed to begin.
Enrollment does not open a new bank account. It adds digital access to an eligible existing relationship.
Priority one: establish whether a User ID ever existed. Skip a second enrollment when the actual problem is a forgotten existing profile.
Read the login screen carefully
First Horizon’s standard personal login page includes a banking-service selector followed by User ID, Password, Login, Enroll for access, and Forgot ID or password.
The dedicated Digital Banking page uses slightly different wording:
- Enter User ID
- Enter Password
- Show
- Forgot User ID/Password
- We still need your User ID
- We still need your Password
Those last two messages are field-validation prompts. They show that the required field was not completed; they do not prove that the bank rejected an existing profile.
Check the fields first. Skip password recovery when the form simply lacks a User ID or password entry.
The Small Business login page uses the same basic User ID and Password structure but is described as the entry point for small-business Digital Banking and business reporting services. A personal customer should not assume that every bank-branded login selection belongs to the personal profile.
Recover the existing profile in a controlled order
Use the recovery link reached through First Horizon’s own website or Digital Banking page. The recovery screen is titled Forgot User ID Or Password and provides a contact number specifically for that service.
Keep the process narrow:
- Confirm whether the account is personal or business.
- Confirm that Digital Banking worked before.
- Open Forgot ID or password.
- Follow the bank’s recovery prompts.
- Return to a new login session.
Do not change the profile, reinstall the app, clear the browser, and begin another enrollment at the same time. That sequence removes useful evidence and makes it difficult to determine which action restored access.
First Horizon also provides a bank-hosted Small Business demonstration labeled Forgot User ID or Password. It offers a safer reference than a third-party tutorial whose interface may no longer match the bank’s current screens.
A recovered password will not correct the wrong User ID. Recover the identifier first when both are uncertain.
Why a customer-service form asks for Digital Banking
Some account-related First Horizon requests are protected by a separate page titled Before you continue.
That screen says the form is for customers and requires a Digital Banking Username and Password. Empty submissions produce the exact messages Please enter a value for Username and Please enter a value for Password. Customers without Digital Banking credentials are directed to a branch or the published support number.
This can look like an unexpected second login. In practice, the form is asking the customer to authenticate with the existing Digital Banking profile before continuing with an account-related request.
Use the Digital Banking profile there. Skip trying credentials from an unrelated First Horizon service.
The bank’s support hub separately offers FAQs, contact options, and customer-service requests, so not every question requires entering a protected form.
Compare website and mobile access
First Horizon says current Digital Banking customers are automatically enrolled for Mobile Banking and should use their existing credentials. Customers can access mobile banking through the downloadable app or a supported mobile browser.
The First Horizon mobile app is offered to personal and Small Business customers. Published functions include balance viewing, mobile deposits, bill payments, transfers, budgets, spending tracking, and alerts.
Use the pattern of failure:
- Website and app both fail: inspect the Digital Banking profile or recovery route.
- Website works but the app fails: inspect the current app and its stored session.
- App works but the website fails: restart from the main First Horizon site and compare a current browser.
- Personal access works but Small Business does not: confirm the service selection.
- Login works but one feature is missing: review product eligibility rather than replacing credentials.
Do not reinstall the app first. Confirm that the profile works through at least one bank-provided route, then isolate the device or service that remains affected.
First Horizon advises customers to download its apps through the store links published on the bank’s mobile page. Mobile messaging and data charges may apply, and available functions can vary by account and device.
Handle suspicious alerts before ordinary troubleshooting
An unexpected email alert, push notification, or one-time passcode changes the nature of the problem.
First Horizon advises customers who notice potentially suspicious activity, including an alert or passcode generated without their action, to change their User ID and password immediately. It gives the same instruction after fraudulent online activity has been reported.
Stop ordinary testing.
Do not approve an unfamiliar request merely to dismiss it. Return to First Horizon through the bank’s main website or an established contact method rather than a link contained in the unexpected message.
This is a financial-security issue, not merely a browser inconvenience. Skip cookie deletion and app installation while unauthorized activity is suspected.
First Horizon’s fraud-prevention page also directs customers toward bank-provided security guidance rather than informal recovery advice.
Choose the relevant support channel
First Horizon publishes 800-382-5465 on its enrollment, contact, and general customer-service pages. Its location page also provides access to Digital and Mobile Banking support and branch-finding tools.
The dedicated Digital Banking login and recovery pages display 800-511-9160 as their customer-care contact.
Use the contact shown for the specific task:
- Digital Banking recovery screen: use its listed customer-care route.
- General banking assistance: use the general support channel.
- No Digital Banking credentials for a protected form: call or visit a branch as instructed.
- Routine written question: use the questions-and-comments form.
- Suspicious account activity: use a bank-established contact without delay.
First Horizon says its questions-and-comments form is generally answered within one to two business days and advises customers needing faster service to call. The form also states that attachments will not be received.
That makes the public form unsuitable for an urgent sign-in block or suspected fraud.
When contacting support, identify the exact service, device, last visible screen, approximate failure time, and whether recovery also failed. Do not place authentication details in an ordinary message.
Deposit accounts and investment services differ
First Horizon’s personal login page displays the FDIC-insured designation for its banking products. The dedicated Digital Banking page also identifies investment management, annuities, financial planning, and insurance products offered through affiliated companies.
Eligible bank deposits are covered according to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation rules and applicable ownership limits. Investment and insurance products carry separate disclosures and should not be treated as insured deposits merely because they appear within a First Horizon-branded environment.
Read the service name.
This difference matters when the login selector routes a customer away from ordinary Digital Banking and toward an investment platform.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the First Horizon login?
Start at firsthorizon.com and select Log in.
What if I never created a User ID?
Use Enroll for access.
How long does First Horizon enrollment take?
First Horizon says the Digital and Mobile Banking enrollment process is completed in about five minutes. Individual circumstances may differ, and customers needing help can use the bank’s published support or branch channels.
Can I use the same credentials in the mobile app?
Yes. First Horizon says existing Digital Banking customers are automatically enrolled for Mobile Banking and use their current Digital Banking credentials.
Why does the login page say it still needs my User ID?
That is a required-field validation message on the Digital Banking page. The same screen can display We still need your Password when that field has not been completed.
Why does a First Horizon form ask me to sign in again?
Some customer-service forms are protected by Digital Banking authentication. The Before you continue page requires the existing Digital Banking username and password and directs customers without those credentials to a branch or support number.
Which number handles Digital Banking access?
The Digital Banking login and recovery pages display 800-511-9160. Broader First Horizon support pages list 800-382-5465, so use the number connected to the page and task you are handling.
Is every First Horizon product FDIC-insured?
No. Eligible banking deposits may receive FDIC coverage, while investment, insurance, annuity, and financial-planning products have separate disclosures and protections.
