Start a First Horizon login through firsthorizon.com, select Log in, and choose the banking service attached to your account. This independent guide is not affiliated with First Horizon Bank and cannot access, recover, or modify customer profiles.
A customer who reaches Digital Banking but cannot find a payment, recipient, or transfer tool does not necessarily have a login problem. Check whether the account dashboard opens first. Skip password recovery when authentication has already succeeded.
What First Horizon is
First Horizon Bank is a U.S. financial institution offering personal, small-business, corporate, mortgage, trust, and related financial services. Its banking pages identify First Horizon Bank as a Member FDIC.
The search term “First Horizon” often leads to one immediate task: access Digital Banking, enroll for online access, recover an existing User ID, make a bill payment, or locate a transfer that was scheduled earlier.
Those tasks split after login.
Confirm whether sign-in actually failed
The First Horizon personal login page contains a banking-service selector followed by User ID, Password, Login, Enroll for access, and Forgot ID or password. The direct Digital Banking page displays Enter User ID, Enter Password, Show, and Forgot User ID/Password.
Use the last successful screen as a decision point:
| What happens | More relevant action |
|---|---|
| Digital Banking rejects an established profile | Use the recovery route |
| No Digital Banking User ID was ever created | Choose enrollment |
| The dashboard opens, but Bill Pay is missing | Check the selected account and service |
| A scheduled payment is not where expected | Review Bill Pay activity and alerts |
| Personal access works, but business access fails | Open the Small Business login |
| A company user can enter but lacks one account | Review business user entitlements |
Do this first: establish whether the dashboard opens. Skip changing credentials when the problem begins after successful entry.
A working dashboard means the primary authentication step completed. It does not prove that every account, payment service, recipient, or business permission is available under that particular profile.
Missing-field messages are not failed passwords
The current Digital Banking page can display We still need your User ID and We still need your Password when the named fields are incomplete.
Those messages describe the form, not the condition of the account.
A browser may restore the User ID but leave the password blank. Another browser may do the reverse. The customer submits the page, sees a validation message, and assumes First Horizon rejected the saved credential even though the complete sign-in was never submitted.
Check both fields first. Skip browser deletion, application reinstallation, and enrollment when the page only identifies a missing entry.
Small message. Specific meaning.
A completed form that remains unsuccessful is when Forgot User ID/Password becomes the more relevant route.
Enroll or recover the profile
Choose Enroll for access when an eligible First Horizon customer has never established Digital Banking. Choose Forgot ID or password when the profile existed and worked previously.
First Horizon’s login page places both controls below the credential fields. Its banking pages distinguish customers establishing access from customers recovering an existing profile.
Two mistakes are common:
- An established user starts another enrollment after forgetting the User ID.
- A bank customer tries recovery even though Digital Banking was never created.
Enrollment adds online access to an eligible banking relationship. It is not the same process as opening or maintaining the underlying deposit account.
Priority one: determine whether the User ID ever existed. Skip duplicate setup when an established Digital Banking profile needs recovery.
Recover one profile at a time. A customer may have separate personal, Small Business, corporate, mortgage, or investment access under the broader First Horizon name.
Find Bill Pay after login
First Horizon describes Bill Pay as available online through Digital Banking and on the go through Mobile Banking. The service supports single payments, transfers, recurring payments, and notifications for upcoming or completed activity.
That means a customer who already entered Digital Banking should troubleshoot the payment area rather than return immediately to password recovery.
Check these points:
- Is the intended personal or Small Business profile open?
- Does the expected funding account appear?
- Was the payment created as a single or recurring item?
- Was the activity a bill payment or a transfer?
- Is the customer searching in the website or mobile app?
- Did an alert report an upcoming or completed payment?
A payment tool that is absent under one profile may belong to another banking relationship or may depend on the account’s enrolled services. Availability can vary by account and region.
Do the account check first. Skip changing the User ID when ordinary Digital Banking already opens.
Use alerts to track payment activity
First Horizon says Bill Pay customers can receive email alerts or messages when bill payments or transfers are upcoming or completed. Mobile users can also set push notifications.
Small Business Bill Pay offers similar controls, including alerts for upcoming or completed payments and recurring-payment setup.
Alerts can answer a narrow question:
- Was a payment scheduled?
- Is a recurring payment approaching?
- Was a transfer completed?
- Did the mobile service issue a push notification?
- Is the customer looking at the correct profile?
An alert is evidence about activity, but it is not a substitute for reviewing the actual Digital Banking record. A customer should not assume a payment succeeded solely because an earlier reminder was received.
Check the payment history inside the established banking session. Skip submitting a duplicate payment merely because the expected result is not immediately visible.
That mistake can create a second transaction.
Personal and Small Business Bill Pay differ
First Horizon maintains a dedicated Small Business login page. It includes a service selector with Digital Banking, Commercial Safekeeping, FHN Financial, Visa, and Business Reporting, followed by User ID, Password, Login, Enroll for access, and Forgot ID or password.
First Horizon also describes Small Business Digital Banking as supporting account management, payments, payments to associates, alerts, and user-entitlement management.
That creates two different business problems:
- The user cannot enter the business profile.
- The user enters successfully but cannot access a payment account or function.
Use recovery for the first problem. For the second, review the organization’s assigned user access.
First Horizon’s BusinessConnect and TreasuryConnect FAQ says administrators can customize account and report access. If a user should access only one account, an administrator can enable or disable that access through user entitlements.
A valid password does not grant every company user access to every account.
Check entitlements first. Skip company-wide password resets when only one authorized user lacks a particular account or report.
Compare the website and mobile app
First Horizon’s Mobile Banking app serves retail and Small Business customers. Its listed functions include viewing balances, depositing checks, paying bills, transferring money, managing budgets, tracking spending, and setting alerts.
Use the channels as a comparison:
- Website and app both reject the profile: use recovery.
- Website works but the app fails: inspect the current app or mobile session.
- App works but the website fails: reopen First Horizon through its main domain.
- Bill Pay appears online but not in the app: confirm the account and mobile menu.
- Personal payments appear but business payments do not: open Small Business access.
- One employee cannot see a business account: review entitlements.
Do not reinstall first. Confirm whether the profile and payment service work through another First Horizon channel, then isolate the device-specific problem.
The App Store history has previously referenced fixes for a Login error and Could not Connect error. That history does not prove a current outage, but it shows why an app-only failure should be separated from a bank-profile problem.
Manage ordinary alerts inside Digital Banking
First Horizon’s alerts page says customized account alerts and Statements Online are available on computers, phones, and tablets.
For text-alert changes, First Horizon directs customers to sign in and visit Settings – Manage Alerts, where they can remove, change, or add a mobile device connected to alert preferences. The same page tells customers who received an alert in error to call 800-382-5465.
Use that route for ordinary notification management.
An unexpected alert about activity the customer did not initiate is different. Do not approve an unfamiliar action or follow a login link supplied only inside the message.
Return to First Horizon through its established main website. Security takes priority; ordinary Bill Pay troubleshooting can wait.
Why a customer form asks for another login
Some First Horizon customer-service requests lead to a page titled Before you continue.
The page says the form is for customers and requires a Digital Banking Username and Password. Empty submissions produce Please enter a value for Username and Please enter a value for Password. Customers without Digital Banking access are directed to a branch or 800-382-5465.
This is an authentication checkpoint for the selected request, not necessarily a new profile.
Use the established Digital Banking credentials there. Skip mortgage, investment, or corporate credentials unless the page specifically names that service.
A required-field message on this screen also does not prove that a completed profile was rejected. It indicates that the named field remains incomplete.
Choose the correct support route
First Horizon’s support hub provides banking FAQs, online contact options, and customer-service request categories.
The public questions-and-comments form says correspondence is generally answered within one to two business days. Customers who need faster help are directed to call 800-382-5465.
Use the route that matches the issue:
- Existing profile rejected: Digital Banking recovery
- No User ID: enrollment
- Bill Pay opens but a payment is missing: account-specific banking support
- Small Business user lacks an account: business administrator or business support
- Protected form cannot be reached: alternate route shown on that page
- Unexpected activity: established fraud or security contact
When reporting a problem, state the profile type, website or app, last screen that worked, payment type, and approximate time.
“Small Business Digital Banking opens, but one user cannot see the funding account used for Bill Pay” gives support a useful starting point. “First Horizon is broken” does not.
FDIC status does not replace service disclosures
First Horizon identifies eligible banking products as FDIC-insured.
The bank’s login selector can also route customers to investment, trust, safekeeping, and other financial services. Those products may carry different protections and disclosures.
Read the selected service name.
Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation coverage applies to eligible deposits under applicable limits and ownership categories. Shared First Horizon branding does not make every linked service an insured deposit.
